For many years, First Nations people relied upon the buffalo to
feed, clothe and shelter their people. It’s befitting then
that the central figure of the FHQ Tribal Council logo is the
buffalo, an animal that represents sustenance. The calf featured
within the larger adult figure symbolizes the energy and spirit
of our youth. The hooves that circle the buffalo represent the
eleven First Nations that make up the FHQ Tribal Council and their
internal focus of standing together in solidarity.

The mission of the File Hills Qu’Appelle Tribal Council is
to:
- Protect and implement Treaty Rights
- Promote self-determination
- Assist in the development of productive and safe communities
- Provide technical and advisory services
- Address the common
interests of First Nations in an equitable and professional manner
while respecting their priorities and culture
